It’s very hard to believe that we have been back one month from our safari trip. In one word it was marvellous. Having Ronnie and Dee, and Lorraine, as our guides made all the difference. I do not think we would have entertained the idea of going half way round the world on our own.

We had to pinch ourselves several times whilst in Botswana on safari to remind ourselves just where in the world we were. Such an honour and privilege to see the animals in their natural surroundings, the local guides and trackers were very knowledgable, taking pains to point out the various tracks of the animals. I can only speak for myself, when looking down from the jeep, it all sort of looked like a mystery, with the exception of the elephant, cheetah, leopard, they were the easiest to see.

I found myself quite teary on more than one occasion. In fact I would say that all of our group at some time during the trip felt the same way.

It was a trip of a lifetime for us, delighted that Ronnie and Dee, were our South African guides. We felt so safe with them taking care of us. They certainly know their country, which we also came to love.

Would we do it again? perhaps if we were younger. Yet I find that it was so special I don’t want to change the memory by adding on another safari.
